Patagonia is located right at the southernmost tip of the Americas. It has a lot of the world’s most picturesque views. It is vast and empty, peaceful and quiet. The place is a landscape that is wind-swept and barren. Patagonia surrounding Torres Del Paine boasts of landscapes you can only imagine. It has beautiful vistas of rolling pastures, mountains, glaciers, and lakes. Many photographers have created tons of beautiful pictures in this magical land. That’s why our Patagonia Photo Tour is one of the most enjoyable trips for both beginners and professional photographers. You will not only witness the majestic place of Patagonia during our photography workshop but also capture the best and unique photos in this week-long journey.

UNUSUAL EXPEDITION’s photo trips are perfect for those who love adventure and photography at the same time. If you are looking for something extraordinary as your subject, then this trip is for you. Day 1
Welcome to Punta Arenas the gateway to Antarctica and Patagonia! This will be your first stop in your Patagonia Photo Tour before heading to Torres Del Paine. Upon touchdown, we will meet you at the arrival hall of the Punta Arenas Airport. You will then be taken straight to your hotel via a private vehicle. On the way to Patagonia Region, we will stop at selected spots for photo shoots. Get your camera ready because this is just the start of the long journey you will have with us!

Meals: (L, D)

Exact photography locations will depend on weather conditions and the long daylight hours of summer.

Day 2 to 6
The Torres Del Paine National Park encompasses mountains, glaciers, lakes, and rivers. It is one of the 11 protected areas of the Magallanes Region and Chilean Antarctica. This bountiful park has spectacular scenery. It is also rich in both flora and fauna. The views here are even better during sunrise and sunsets! Torres Del Paine is every photographer’s dream destination. It has a vast and majestic landscape. That’s why most people consider this as the most spectacular national park in Patagonia. During our Patagonia Photo tour, we will spend five days in this location to enjoy the photo-taking experience. Aside from that, there are other activities in this scenic landscape that you can enjoy.

Wildlife Exploration in Torres Del Paine

Here, we will rise early in the morning to capture the stunning sunrise. It bathes the mountains in a golden glow. The waterfalls will look like a cascading blanket of diamonds. Daily activities in this Patagonia Photo Tour include tracking to photograph the pumas and other animals that inhabit the area. You will also have the chance to spot foxes, guanacos, black-chested buzzard-eagle, and the Magellanic horned owl. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the Chilean flamingo, the Andean condor, and black-necked swans too. These are just some of the wild animals you will witness. You will surely get to see more through this Patagonia Photo Tour.

Another highlight of the park is the ‘baqueano,’ which loosely translates to ‘cowboy.’ It describes a person born in the countryside and works on ranches. These people are really close to their horses in a deeply rooted culture that goes back to the late 19th century. Today, they maintain their customary way of life mostly by leading horseback riding tours in Patagonia. Hence, they are called pathfinders. Having said that, horseback riding is one of the activities that you can enjoy here. You will also see and capture them in action as we visit their stables. You can also see them while they are out in the open mounted on horseback.

Lago Grey

Finally, our Patagonia Photo Tour will take you to a cruise to pay a visit to Lago Grey. This is located in the Los Glaciares National Park. It is named after the explorer Francisco Moreno. This is one of the tourist attractions in Patagonia. It is also one of the 48 glaciers by the Southern Patagonian Ice Field in the Andes system shared with Chile. This ice field also happens to be the world’s third-largest reserve of freshwater. If time and weather permits, we might do a mini-trek to the glacier itself. So, get your camera ready for some once-in-a-lifetime shots!
