About Joseph Mak

Hi, I’m Joseph Mak—a travel photographer, storyteller, and adventurer at heart. Photography has always been more than just a profession for me; it’s a way to explore the world, connect with its many layers, and share the beauty I see with others.

My journey began with a simple love for discovery and storytelling. Over time, this evolved into a deep passion for photography—an art form that allows me to freeze fleeting moments and preserve the emotions they carry. Every image I create is a reflection of my perspective, an effort to tell a story that resonates beyond the frame.

As a Fujifilm X-Photographer, I’m proud to work with tools that empower my creativity and help me push the boundaries of my craft. I also cherish my role as a Canon Imaging Academy Instructor previously, where I have the privilege of guiding aspiring photographers and helping them unlock their potential.

In 2014, I founded Unusual Expedition, an initiative that embodies my philosophy of exploration and connection. Through it, I lead unique experiences that focus on uncovering hidden stories and creating meaningful memories with others who share my love for photography and adventure.

For me, photography is more than capturing an image—it’s about forging a connection with the world, embracing its unpredictability, and finding beauty in the unexpected. Through my work, I aim to inspire others to slow down, see differently, and appreciate the richness of life’s fleeting moments.
